Jr/Sr High School Campus

 

Junior-Senior High School Associate Principal - Full Time, 12 months

Salary Range $60,000 - $65,000

SUMMARY: 

The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to Catholic education and a proven track record of success in student discipline, academic progress, and assessment coordination.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Oversee all aspects of student discipline, including investigating and adjudicating student misconduct, developing and implementing discipline policies, and working with parents to address student behavior issues.
  • Collaborate with the Principal and other administrators to develop and implement school-wide academic improvement plans.
  • Monitor student academic progress and identify students who are struggling academically.
  • Develop and implement interventions for students who are struggling academically.
  • Coordinate state and local assessments, including ordering tests, administering tests, ensuring test security, and analyzing test results.
  • Work with teachers to develop and implement curriculum that is aligned with state and national standards.
  • Provide professional development to teachers on topics related to student discipline, academic progress, and assessment coordination.
  • Assist the principal with teacher/staff supervision and evaluations. 
  • Coordinate school safety drills.
  • Represent the school at community events and meetings.
  • Serve on the Diocesan Systems Implementation Team (SIT). 
  • Other duties as assigned by the principal. 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Master's degree in Education or Education Administration.
  • Education Administration certification (or working toward).
  • Minimum of five years of teaching experience.
  • Practicing Catholic in good standing.
  • Strong understanding of Catholic education and theology.
  • Commitment to providing a high-quality education to all students.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage student discipline.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Willingness to pursue continuous professional development and growth. 
  • Proficient in state regulations for education and requirements for graduation. 
  • Good organization and management skills. 
  • Ability to be flexible and resourceful. 
  • Energetic, empathetic, and innovative approach to handling student concerns.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and similar programming preferred. 
  • Experience creating and maintaining a master schedule preferred. 

     

Substiture Teacher

Pay: $120.00 per day

Substitute teachers are contacted as work becomes available (as teacher's require). Applicants should have flexible availability and be able to work from 7:30 a.m. - 2:40 p.m. or the length of time a substitute is needed for.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide instruction to students in the absence of the regular teacher
  • Follow lesson plans and ensure continuity of learning
  • Maintain a positive and engaging classroom environment
  • Manage student behavior and enforce school policies
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Collaborate with other staff members to support student success
  • Provide feedback to regular teachers regarding student progress

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (required)
  • Teaching certification or substitute teaching permit (preferred)
  • Understanding of childhood development and effective teaching strategies
  • Ability to provide individualized tutoring and support to students as needed
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in different classrooms and grade level

 

Earth Science - Full Time, 10 Months

Salary Range $35,000 - $45,000

SUMMARY: 

Notre Dame Junior-Senior High School is seeking a passionate and qualified Science Teacher to join our dedicated faculty. The primary responsibility for this position is teaching Earth and Space Science to high school students. Additionally, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and delivery of the science curriculum for our middle school program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement engaging, differentiated, and academically challenging lesson plans in Earth and Space Science for high school students that is aligned with NYS standards. 
  • Integrate Catholic values and perspectives into the science curriculum where appropriate, fostering an appreciation for the natural world as a gift from God. 
  • Utilize a variety of effective teaching methodologies, including inquiry-based learning, hands-on activities, technology integration, and collaborative projects, to cater to diverse learning styles. 
  • Assess student learning through various methods, including tests, quizzes, projects, presentations, and class participation, providing timely and constructive feedback. 
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including grades, attendance, and progress reports. 
  • Create a positive, safe, and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning and respectful of all students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support student success and contribute to the school community. 
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge of Earth and Space Science content and pedagogy.
  • Adhere to school policies, procedures, and the Code of Conduct. 
  • Supervise students in the classroom and during school-related activities as required.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and any concerns. 
  • Integrate technology effectively into instruction and assessment. 
  • Potentially moderate a science-related club or activity. 
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned by the Principal.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Earth Science or a related field (such as Geology) with a Master’s degree in Education or a related field. 
  • Possession of or working toward a valid state teaching certificate in Science (with an endorsement in Earth & Space Science preferred).
  • Experience in a secondary school setting a plus.
  • Ability to develop and deliver engaging and effective science lessons.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to Catholic values and the ability to integrate them into a science curriculum.
  • Passion for fostering a love of science in students.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.
